To Explore the Universe

An astronaut. That’s what I want to be. Nothing else. Why? The answer is simple.

I want to know what’s up there and to see it face to face. See the twinkling stars up close and to see the bright moon. To look at the incredible Milky Way Galaxy and see all the planets. To experience what’s like to fly in a rocket. To see androids, comets and black holes is what I want to do for living. Nothing else.

However, I’m only 6 years old. I’m too young to explore the universe. So for now I have to keep my feet planted to the ground and watch the sky through my home made telescope.

Scared

Shane’s eyes met mine. We stared at each other as the footsteps were coming closer. My heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest and all I could think about was who the footsteps may belong to. Shane froze to his spot, not moving a muscle while I moved to hide behind one of the many bookshelves’.

“Shane,” I whispered.

Shane suddenly twitched and looked all around the room with an alarmed look on his pale face.

“It’s me, Lauren. I’m over here.”

Shane scanned the room until he found me. I smiled and he walked towards me. Suddenly the door opened only to find Wayne, the school bully with his “gang”.

“Why am I not surprised to see you here Lauren and Shane?” Wayne bellowed.

I was frightened and Shane was too. We both had a terrified look on our faces and Wayne knew we were scared, he always knew.

How was he going to frighten us? What was he going to say? I thought

“Well kiddos, I am not going to beat you up today,” Wayne said coming closer towards us.

I looked at Shane, he was surprised.

“But, I know something that will frighten you,” giving me a piece of crumpled paper, then Wayne left with no further words.

“That was close,” said Shane, giving a huge sigh of relief.

I opened the piece of paper and read it aloud. Shane and I stared at each other petrified and shocked.

A Story including horoscope, missing tooth and makeup

The Prophecy

If the prophecy was true, the world will end in 25 days. The day will begin normally, however on the 13th hour everything will freeze. Wlls will collapse, cars will crash and the ground will shake. Only five people will survive and one of them is me, Maddy Fowler.

I looked up my horoscope today. It mentioned that if you are stressed keep positive. However, how do I keep positive if I know that everyone around me will die. My body turned to stone, I was standing as still as a statue when I looked at my watch I realised that there was only a few hours left.

I walked out slowly to our porch when a vivid sensation came upon me. Colours seemed to bounce everywhere. I felt like I was breathing my mums blusher as I coughed violently. Now I felt like all of the makeup  in thye world now was on top of me. Walls were collapsing, cars crushed into one another and I was the only one left standing.

A tooth was now infront of me next to a long scroll. I’m not sure how they got there. When I looked closer to the tooth, I realised that were words engraved  on it. It read: Clue 1: The missing tooth of king…

What did it mean? I opened the scroll there it read: Your time has come, shine! Meet the others and everyone will live. You have 100 days and your time starts now.

Mysterious

I looked, closed my eyes, pinched myself and then opened my eyes again, everything was still there. I thought I was dreaming, however, now I knew I was not. The sight made me flinch, shake and made my eyelids twitch. I tried to think as fast as I could as what I could do. It was going to strike any moment now. I ran along the bush track, trying to get away. However, the further I ran and every step I took, it all seemed closer. I turned around, however, all I could see was fog.

The Ghost Figures

Staring out the window, watching the rain drop heavily onto the ground. Drop by drop. The sound outside was getting even louder than it already was. The dark grey clouds covered the sky, not being able to see a speck of blue or sunlight.

Rain is such a nuisance. As you are stuck indoors. You are not allowed to go outside because it is muddy as well as getting wet. But the main reason why I hate the rain is because the ghost figures come back.

The ghost figures hide in my cupboards or under my bed. And at midnight they come and spook me out.

Midnight is coming soon , 11:54pm to be exact. Minutes ticked by, 11:56, 11:58, 11:59 and now 12:00pm. I hid under my covers and let the ghost figures come close to me.

The Old Warm Covers

I knelt down close to my bed and looked up at the covers. The covers were made for a cold winter’s night. It feels similar to having hundreds of blankets on top of you. Now heading into summer and using these covers made me sweat from head to toe.

My old, cotton nighty was saturated in sweat every morning. Waking up sticky is not a pleasant experience. It was time to go for my nap. My nighty was still sweaty from last night however, I just had to live with it.

The Wonder Kids 2

I am just a normal girl in the day however, at night I am nothing like that.

During the day I run around the oval. At night I hide behind trees. In the day I swim laps. At night I run for my life. In the midday sun I wear bright clothes that you can see from the distance. In the moon light I wear clothes that will help me camouflage.

At night when many kids my age would be sleeping and using their covers to make them selves comfy, I am up and about. Using my clothes to help me camouflage, I run to my usual spot. 13 Corby Road, Fenwood. In other words, the big, haunted house right next to the lake.

I fight what is ever there until the sun comes up. When the sun rises the evil monster or object turns into dust. Each night it is different and is harder to survive.

Every night I go to the evil house or otherwise I know for sure that something bad will happen to me and my friends.

April Fools Day 2

I held the whoopee cushion in my sweaty hand.

I needed to put this on Mrs Polise’s chair before everyone gets to the classroom, I thought.

The other 21 pupils in my class were counting on me to bring it. Ella was bringing a toy python, Sam and Jack were swapping names (because that is what you do when you have a twin), Sara and Felix were making a huge spider out of paper mâché and that just leaves me ( because no one else in our class was eager to do it).

I stalked through the empty hall way making sure I wouldn’t get caught and tip-toed into the empty classroom.

Mrs Polise had been here. Her handbag and all the science exams from yesterday. I quickly put the whoopee cushion on her chair and left the classroom. I could hear another teacher coming towards me. So I sprinted as fast as I could and went into the playground.

I tried acting natural into the bell rang for line up. I lined up at the very front and sat down quietly trying to avoid all the people trying to get my attention.

“Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month,” I said to Jack who was behind me.

“John,” he said to me. “The 1st of April is tomorrow.”

Ohh no, I thought.

I Will Never Forget

Something’s people never forget. Being sad to happy, emotional or the best moment of their life.

Crouching down with my box that was gripped so tightly that it would break with any more pressure.

This box is full of answers and stories that I never told. The box full of pictures me young and old and pictures with friends or just me going solo.

I held the box tightly against my chest that it could feel my heartbeat and feel my lungs inflate and deflate air.

It was autumn when I first put my something in this box. It was a picture of me with my old friend who left to go to London for a holiday. She never returned though. She loved London so much that she decided to stay. She broke the news to me on Skype in her new home. Telling me about her new school and friends.

Another memory came to my mind when I picked up an old dance shoe. It was mine when I was five. I wore it around the house and to the park, to the markets and on my boat. I lost one of them though when I went to my cousins house. I took both of them off so I could jump on the bed. However, their cat took one and put it some where around the house. I was so upset when I couldn’t find it. I cried and cried my eyeballs out until my mum bought me a new pair. I liked them. However, not as much as the other pair. Those dance shoes were like my teddy bear.

I heard footsteps coming towards my room. I closed the box firmly and put it under my bed.

I lay on my bed and went into a deep, deep sleep dreaming about my memories that I will never forget.

April Fools Day 1

I was standing in this cold room. It was my living room. The heaters broke yesterday so I was frozen. I was trying to warm myself up by snuggling myself in warm blankets, layers and layers of them. I was home alone sitting on the white, leather couch watching my favourite TV show Mordern Family. I was eating nice warm popcorn that just came out of the microwave. But it still didn’t warm me up on this 5 degree day.

I was just getting comfy when the phone rang. “Hello,” I said, “Hello.” No one was there. I hung up. All the lights went out. I was scared actually no petrified.

I heard the door open the night from outside was coming in. A black figure came into the house.

” Nina,” it called “Nina I know you’re hiding.”

I hid under the blankets shaking with every breath I took. Suddenly all the lights were back on.

I lifted my head to see my brother in a long, black, vampire cloak that I used for Halloween.

“Happy April Fools Day,” my brother called while laughing his head off.
